Austria’s capital community volunteers deliver fact-based drug education with young people across the city

Vienna — 23 December 2025 — Community volunteers linked to “A Drug-Free World” Austria are expanding outreach in Vienna, engaging young people, parents and teachers via street information stands and event-based activities. Led locally by Gabriele Toker, a local organiser, the initiative uses “Truth About Drugs” materials to provide clear information on drug risks, including the news eu elections ongoing debate around cannabis, described by public monitoring bodies as the most widely used illicit drug in Europe. Organisers say, the Vienna activities aim to reach teenagers early, including at large public gatherings such as the Donauinselfest, while also supporting teachers seeking prevention tools for schools. Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and the United Nations, said: “Prevention works best when young people receive verified information early, in plain language—supporting both community well-being and European civic values.”
